Sketch of Paddington Central - existing semi-enclosed walkways

Considering the scale and contextual relationship of Paddington Central with its location it was identified that there are a number of characteristics of the development that are very positive and would continue to be relevant in any future development of the site.

The layout of the facilities seem to consist of spaces that are linked with a series of verandahs and semi-enclosed walkways that allow for breeze and diffused natural light.  There is an abundance of vegetation that surrounds the development which screens the current carparking facilities from adjacent residential properties.

I envisage that in developing a scheme for a holistic health focused scheme that further embracing and enhancing these characteristics would allow for a more engaging development, namely by activating the Morris Street and Warmington Street facades with spaces which allow for circulation, activity and greater transparency.
